I've dabbled with Wordpress for a while, both as a web host and a blogger. I felt the need to acknowledge just how far it has come in a relatively short space of time.
The autoinstall on Wordpress is nothing short of incredible. Having prepared my database in advance I was ready to input six or seven screens of information before being able to start on the content and customisation. But no. One click. That's all it took. The installation screen apologises that it's so easy!

Working for a digital agency you need to keep abreast of all the latest developments in the digital arena.
My favourites in 2008 were:
1. Techcrunch - The Bay area is where it's at for new web technologies and Michael Arrington has his fingers right on the pulse.
2. Readwriteweb - A broad overview and review of the latest web startups all over the world.
3. Scobleizer - Robert Scoble's tech blog and videos.

As we're in a new year I guess it's traditional to make a few resolutions. So here goes:
Get fit. Having a kid plays havoc with your football schedule!
Learn a programming language properly. In my case, asp.net. So useful for work.
Take more pictures - and really learn creative lighting. Getting a D700 could make me lazy if I'm not careful.
Blog. This is my second take at regularly writing a blog, the previous effort lasted a couple of months.
Fortunately there are a few new tools to help me achieve the last one - I've recently installed the a Wordpress application on to my Iphone so I can update...

Welcome to my new site and blog, and Happy New Year!
I wonder if there's a term for this - the realisation that the domain of your own name has become available and you've just managed to register it? Well, after the warm smugness had worn off I had to decide what to use it for.
I already have a couple of photography sites, one for personal shots and another of my favourite general shots which also incorporated a (not very updated) blog. So the big master plan is to move the blog here and keep the photo gallery separate.
